Optional SMS Notifications

Got Questions? offers an optional verification-based SMS enrollment process on each student’s private conversation page when enabled. Students can ask questions without enrolling.

How to opt in

After submitting a question, open your private conversation page. Enter your US mobile number, check the unchecked SMS consent box, request a verification code, and enter the code sent by Twilio. If the form says enrollment is unavailable, signup has not opened yet.

How consent will work

The checkbox is unchecked by default. Consent is optional and recorded with verification. Enrollment will not be enabled for students until appropriate safeguarding and consent requirements are in place.

What texts will say

Once outbound reply notifications are launched, texts will identify Got Questions? and indicate a new reply is available. They will not include the question or answer itself. Message frequency varies based on replies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance once outbound messaging is active. The conversation page also has a disable option.

Phone number privacy

Phone numbers are encrypted in the application database and are not displayed in Judson’s dashboard. The server and Twilio process numbers for verification and messaging; authorized server or Twilio administrators may have access. Disabling notifications on the conversation page deletes the active subscription from the database, but backups and provider records may remain. We do not sell or share SMS opt-in data for marketing.
